Volunteers from the Eldon FBLA chapter taught personal finance and economic concepts to third grade students at the South Elementary. During the after-school LEAP program, members of FBLA met with the third grade students one night a week for a total of four weeks. Each night consisted of a different lesson plan. FBLA members covered topics such as such as the value of money, human capital, as well as differences in goods and services. The third graders also participated in several activities ranging from playing a board game about money to picking coins out of a jar and identifying the value. FBLA members enjoyed the experience working with the elementary students and plan to continue the lessons in the spring.
