Marching Mustangs Do Well at the Missouri State University Homecoming Parade

On Saturday October 29th, the Eldon High School Marching Mustangs competed in the Missouri State University Homecoming parade along with 27 other bands from around the state.  The Marching Mustangs received a 2nd place trophy in the Class 4A division.  Divisions are made based on school size and trophies are given to the top bands in each of the 5 divisions. 
Along with the 2nd place trophy in their class, the Marching Mustangs were excited to receive the Overall Award for Outstanding Musical Sound.  This award is given to the band that has the best overall score in the music category out of all 28 bands competing that day.
The Marching Mustangs next performance will be at the half time of Wednesday’s District Football Game at School of the Osage.

Eldon Mustangs Shut Out the California Pintos!

The Eldon Mustangs shut out the California Pintos Thursday night with a final score of 28 to 0.  The Mustangs finished their winning season with a 6 – 4 record and will advance to District play for the first time since 1993.  The Mustangs will play the Osage Indians at 7:00 on Wednesday, November 2.

Gold Rush Game!

Thursday’s Varsity Game against the California Pintos, at home, will be a Gold Rush Game.  Gold Rush shirts are available for $10 each.  The shirts can be purchased at the high school before and after school and during lunch.  Shirts will also be available at the game.
*Note!  This game has been rescheduled and will be played on Thursday, October 27th at 7:00 p.m.

Eldon Middle School Teacher Named October’s Excellent Educator for October

Excellent Educator for October!

Eldon Middle School is proud to report that Mr. Michael Wyatt has been named this month’s Excellent Educator by KRCG TV and the Missouri Retired Teachers Association.  Mr. Wyatt teaches 7th and 8th grade pre-algebra and algebra, does tutoring before school, and also spends many hours maintaining our outdoor classroom area.

Yesterday, we took 25 students to audition for the All-District Bands and Jazz Bands, where over 390 students from the Central District auditioned.  We are excited to announce that 14 of our students were selected for one of the bands.

Fourth Grade Musical Set for October 20th

The Fourth Grade at Eldon Upper Elementary will be presenting their grade level musical, “Jazz” on Thursday, October 20, 2011.  It will be held in the Upper Elementary Gym at 6:00 p.m.  Jazz is an important form of American music, and Missouri helped it to progress throughout the country.
