FFA Annual Career Development

The Eldon FFA Chapter will be hosting their annual Career Development Events this Saturday (3/5/11)  on the high school campus.   There will be approximately 900 students in competition representing 30 schools across the state.  FFA members will be testing in 15 different technical skills such as:  Livestock Judging, Agriculture Mechanics, Nursery/Landscaping, FFA Knowledge, Forestry and Meat Judging to name a few.  Besides the high school campus, other areas where students will be testing are:  local livestock farms, Miller County fairgrounds and Saline Wildlife Conservation area.

Eldon Speech and Debate takes First Place at Pilot Grove

This past Saturday eleven schools started toward Pilot Grove for the end of the regular season.  Due to ice and snow two schools turned around and the other nine plowed on.
EHS ended the regular season with a first place sweepstake trophy.  The individual Mustang winners include:

EHS will compete at Camdenton H.S. March 5th. in district competition.

Donkey Basketball, February 28th

The student council is hosting the 2nd Annual Donkey Basketball Tournament, Monday, February 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school gym.  Advance tickets are on sale now for $6 a person, and can be purchased at the main office at the high school.  Teams are still forming, contact Student Council advisor, Thomas Wright, for more information.

EHS Hosting Districts

Eldon High School will once again be hosting the 2011 Class 4 District 10 girls and boys basketball tournaments, February 21st-25th.  The Lady Mustangs will take on the Helias Crusaders on Tuesday at 7:30 PM.  The Eldon Varsity boys will play Boonville on Wednesday at 7:30 PM.  If either team advances, they will play for a district Championship on Friday evening.  Be sure to come out and support the Mustangs!

Speech & Debate take First at Cole Camp

The weekend of January 29th, the Speech and Debate team competed in the Cole Camp

Speech and Debate Tournament.  The speech team came home with the 1st Place Trophy

out of 20 school, with 16 students advancing to finals.  The following students advanced

Eldon Celebrates FFA Week

Tractor Day

The Eldon FFA Chapter recognized FFA week February 14th – 18th.  Wednesday, February 16th was FFA T-shirt and Tractor Day.  Members were encouraged to drive their tractors to school.  Through out the day the tractors were visited and used in farm equipment cost, operation and safety education.  The students also voted for their favorite tractor.

District buses will run on snow routes on Friday.

Project Prom Benefit Dinner to be Held as Scheduled

The ham and bean dinner to benefit Project Prom will be held as scheduled.  The dinner will be at the High School Commons on Saturday, Feb. 12.  Meals will be served from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.   Come on out, have a good meal and see some great basketball!

Eldon School District on Snow Routes

The Eldon School District Buses will be on Snow Routes all week, February 7 – February 11, 2011.
