Lady Mustang signs with Lincoln University

Lady Mustang Kara Harwood has signed a Letter of Intent to play golf at Lincoln University.  Lincoln is a Division II school in Jefferson City, Missouri.  Kara signed her scholarship intent on Tuesday, November 16th.  This full-ride scholarship will provide Kara with an education in the field of her choice.

Mustangs take 2nd at Clinton Speech and Debate Tournament

On Saturday, November 13, twelve schools competed at the First Annual Clinton High School Speech and Debate Tournament.  The Mustanges brought home the 2nd place trophy, coming in behind Warrensburg High School.  Individual winners are as follows:

Prose – 3rd place Payton Atteberry, finalist Morgan Brown
Oratory – 1st place Payton Atteberry, finalist Lacey Masters
Humorous Interpretation – finalists: Katie Whitney, Loivia Sparks and Danielle Opie

The EHS Speech and Debate Team will be competing again on December 4th at St. James High School.

3rd Annual “Maroon and Gold” Alumni Game

The 3rd annual Eldon High School Football Alumni Game (Maroon & Gold Game) will be held on Saturday, November 27th at 2:00 p.m.  The game will be held on the High School Football Field and is open to any past alumni of Eldon High school that has completed 2 years of varsity football. 

The gate fee for this event is $5 for adults and $3 for students.  The proceeds from this game will benefit the Eldon football program.

The all Conference Volleyball Team for 2010 has been announced

Congratulations to Kelsi Mueller and  Katie Kirkweg for being selected to the All Conference Volleyball Team.

Mustang Speech Team takes 1st place!

The Mustang Speech Team competed Friday with 13 other schools at Stover High School.  EHS brought home the 1st Place Team Trophy ahead of Helias High School and Warrensburg High School.

Eldon Students selected to Central District Honors Band

  In October, around 280 students from all over Central Missouri auditioned for the Central District Honor Bands.  

Eldon was honored to have 12 students, who as a result of a rigorous audition process, were selected for one of the two bands. The following students were selected and participated in the bands this past Saturday:

FFA Grasslands team places at State

Grasslands teams

This year the Eldon FFA Chapter had two grasslands teams participating at State Competition.  The FFA Grassland Team received 9th place at the competition.  Members of that team are Ryan Looten, Arika Myers, Elaine Herx and Chelsea Pemberton.  The 4-H Grassland Team members are Tyler Wray, Amber Abbett, Dillon Smith and Kailene Twombley.  These members have worked hard and we congratulate them!

Greenhand and Chapter Degree Ceremony

The Eldon FFA Greenhand and Chapter Degree Ceremony was November 2, 2010.  Ninty-three Greenhands and sixty-three Chapter Degree members were inducted that evening.  Also in attendance were over 100 parents, adminstration and friends. Guest speakers for the evening were FFA State Officers Mareta Sherman and Jessica Kueffer.
