Marching Mustangs do well at the St. James Grape and Fall Festival

Band

On Saturday, the Eldon High School Marching Mustangs competed in the St. James Grape and Fall Festival Parade.  This year’s parade was dedicated to Jessica Brinker, the St. James Band member who died in the tragic bus accident in August.  In conjunction with this dedication, all eleven bands who attended the day’s festivities joined in playing an arrangement of “God of our Fathers” before the parade began.  Following the parade, the St. James Chamber of Commerce treated all participating bands to lunch.  The outpouring of support from the community and surrounding area was evident by the very large crowd the entire length of the parade.  What a tremendous experience for our students to be able to lend their support as the St. James Band family continues to heal from their recent tragedy.  Following are the parade competition results.  The Marching Mustangs placed 1st in their division, being judged on music fundamentals, music general effect, marching fundamentals, and marching general effect.  Also, the EHS Drumline received the Overall Best Drumline Award and the EHS Color Guard received the Overall Best Auxiliary Award.  The band’s next performance will be in the EHS Homecoming Festivities this Friday.
